Rekindle the flame within
Urja is a 3 night - 4 day powerful and rejuvenating workshop for mid-career professionals/entrepreneurs to connect to your deepest aspirations and discover your sense of self and sense of purpose. URJA would be facilitated at Faraway Renz by applied behavioural scientists and career coaches from Kavyata using an experiential and dialogue based approach.
Crisis, break and change are not normally what we expect after a good 10-15 years of an upward trajectory at work. Outwardly things may not even look bad. We seem to be coasting along, meeting career milestones, achieving our dream of professional and financial success. Yet the inner story may be different.
Mid-career is that time when we are most likely to question (often silently) the meaning of our work, our autonomy, our contribution to the organization and our real value, our relationships. Success and satisfaction don’t seem to have such a direct link anymore and the innumerable questions in our heads, leave us feeling tired, lonely and wondering, ‘is this all, what next?’
Our work (at Kavyata) with mid-career individuals suggests that what seems like a silent crisis also contains the seed for a new beginning. The greatest desire is to express one’s full range of potentials through a more wholesome work identity and to be the author of one’s own professional narrative. Less visible but exerting a significant impact is our inner desire to honour and make our own life stories and experiences a key differentiator in carving our unique professional identities.
For corporate professionals 10-15 years of experience, young entrepreneurs, women professionals who are re-examining the nature of their engagement with work. You may be wanting the following when it comes to work and career
● The opportunity to express a wider range of your potentials and talents than you currently do
● Greater balance and negotiability between work, family, lifestyle, personal interests
● Desire to make your mark as an independent professional/expert/entrepreneur
● Support and guidance in concretising a different work/career path which excites you but which you are currently unsure about
At Urja, we see work as an expression of who we are. In the words of Jiddu Krishnamurti, “If you find out what it is you love to do and give your whole life to it, there is no contradiction, and in that state, your being is your doing.”
Who we are is in turn the story that we know and believe about ourselves and from this emerge our choices and actions/non-actions with respect to work, relationships etc. Our approach therefore centres around uncovering these stories, releasing the limiting beliefs contained in them and expanding/changing our stories to include unknown and unused potentials. Keeping work as the centrepiece, we connect back the change in our inner stories to its impact on our work.
In our thinking and design of Urja, we are influenced by humanistic psychology
, neuroscience and the Eastern traditions of Yoga, particularly that of ‘sankalpa’ -using the power of heartfelt intention.
● To explore the impact of one’s life experiences on one’s professional journey and develop a deeper perspective on it, beyond the usual known markers of professional achievement and success
● To surface unarticulated aspirations (personal and professional) and release the emotional energy for growth
● To explore one’s role taking behaviour and its connection to work and life choices
● To search for and identify unused talents and potentials within oneself
